Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie #KraftPeanutBetterIt

I am not a breakfast person at all and I’m starting to notice that my kids don’t like it either – they always complain about sore tummies after. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to let my oldest go to school without having something to fill him up. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Smoothies are the perfect thing for tricking your mind into getting the fuel that it needs to stay energized until snack or break time comes around. You can add just about anything to a smoothie and take it with you, making it the ideal get-up- and-go breakfast choice; they’re quick, easy and kids love them – at least I know mine do.

Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie #KraftPeanutBetterIt

The first time I ever made my Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie I just used Kraft Peanut Butter with Chocolate. Now that I’ve discovered Kraft Peanut Butter with Chocolate, I decided to enhance the chocolate-y flavour, which gives me bonus points with the little ones.

Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie #KraftPeanutBetterIt • ¼ cup water
• 1 tablespoon chia seed
• 1 cup almond milk
• 1 frozen banana
• 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
• 2 tablespoons  Kraft Peanut Butter with Chocolate

Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie #KraftPeanutBetterIt1. Soak chia seeds in water for 10 minutes.
2. Place all ingredients and chia seeds with remaining water in blender. Blend on medium speed for 2 minutes and high for 1 minute or until desired consistency.
3. Serve immediately.

These Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothies are so delish that my kids don’t realize the almond milk, chia seeds, banana and  Kraft Peanut Butter with Chocolate are packed with so much protein they’re actually having a breakfast that’s good for them. All their minds can register that early in the morning is “Mmm…chocolate!” and who can blame them?

Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie #KraftPeanutBetterItKraft Peanut Butter is so much more than just a spread for your toast. Did you know that in just one jar there are endless possibilities for inspirational and tasty recipes? It’s true, it can be used as a dip for your fruit, a flavourful cooking or baking ingredient and as you can see from my recipe – an upgrade for smoothies.

I had no idea there was chocolate peanut butter! Leave it to Kraft. Gonna check for it next grocery shop.

  • Victoria Ess

This sounds really good! I make something similar but have never tried chocolate peanut butter.

    • Amanda Komoski

Neither I had I until I found it in the store. You should swap out whatever it is that you use for the Kraft Chocolate Peanut Butter, you’ll love it!

  • Cheryl Grandy

Smoothies are great for a healthy breakfast. You can hide all kinds of healthy things in them. I love chocolate, so Kraft Chocolate Peanut Butter would be a wonderful way to add protein and good taste to a smoothie (any time of day).

  • paula schuck

What the what?? There’s a chocolate peanut butter now? I had no idea. I am very much taking note of the Peanut butter recipes floating around right now. My younger daughter’s two favourite foods in the world are – pizza and KRAFT peanut butter. I currently have two jars of it in the pantry because I stockpile. She eats a MINIMUM of one PB sandwich a day.

    • Amanda

I know what you mean. My son has peanut butter toast EVERY morning and EEK I’m all out for tomorrow. I may be in trouble…

  • Olivia

What a great idea! I rarely ever eat breakfast (I know, I know), but that smoothie would convince me to eat breakfast every day!

    • Amanda Komoski

You and me both Olivia. I’m so busy getting the kids to eat that I often forget about myself…

  • Elizabeth Matthiesen

Actually I’m not surprised that I didn’t know that they now make a chocolate peanut butter, that’s because I’m one of only a very few it seems who don’t like peanut butter in the first place.

  • robin masshole mommy

That smoothie sounds so good. This is my favorite flavor combination, too! I need to make one soon 🙂

  • Cindy Ingalls

Peanut butter, chocolate and bananas are one of my favorite flavor combos. I love trying out new smoothie recipes too, especially when they look this delicious.

    • Amanda Komoski

Kraft is the ONLY brand of peanut butter I will eat and it’s been that way ever since I was a kid.

  • wendy

This looks yummy! I know my little boy would love the chocolate and peanut butter mix! Thank you for posting your wonderful recipe!

  • Elizabeth O.

This looks so decadent! I love smoothies in the morning, it’s the perfect go-to breakfast for busy moms. It’s great because you can do a lot of combinations as well. I love the idea of adding peanut butter.

    • Amanda Komoski

I love experimenting with different flavours in my smoothies and the added protein when using peanut butter is HUGE plus.

  • Maria

Just my youngest like peanut butter, but he hasn’t yet tried PB with chocolate… I’m almost afraid to let him try, he will want to eat the whole thing with a spoon!

  • Erica

This looks and sounds amazing. My son is allergic to a ton of things but this looks like something he can have and would love it.

  • Ladena

Yum! This sounds awesome. I’ve never tried chocolate peanut butter before but I can imagine it’s delicious. What a great smoothie recipe. Must try!

  • Kathy

That sounds really good. Peanut butter and chocolate are some of my favorite combinations. I bet it tastes great!

  • Lisa Rios

My goodness, this is such a wonderful combination that looks delicious & so easy to do as well. A healthy smoothie like this would be a good breakfast idea for my kids anytime.

  • Holly @ Woman Tribune

This looks like the perfect solution to a wholesome breakfast for someone who hates eating breakfast. Who can say no to chocolate, banana, and peanut butter… and chocolate?! Mmm, chocolate.

    • Amanda Komoski

You don’t know what you’re missing until you do Carole! Kraft Peanut Butter has different options now, it’s easy to find the flavour you want.

  • nicolthepickle

Oh my this looks so good. I ‘m a little sad I saw this recipe right before supper time. Now I’ll have to wait to make it.

  • Debbie White Beattie

This recipe looks so good but I don’t know if I or the kids should be getting this much chocolate even though its got some healthier ingredients, maybe just for special occasions.

    • Amanda Komoski

That’s the great part Debbie, with only 2 tablespoons of Peanut Butter with Chocolate it’s not a lot of chocolate at all and no different than using regular Kraft Peanut Butter!

  • Laurie P

Finally got another Jar of this stuff! I barely got any of the first one I bought, the guys devoured it!

  • kristen visser
