Top 5 Sensitive Skin Summer Must Haves Every Mother Should Carry

As a child I spent all of my summer months outdoors. From sun-up to sun-down I was never seen inside, not even for dinner. Those were the days, not a care in the world except for the fact that I never wanted the days to end.

Bicycle scrapes, tree-climbing cuts and even run-ins with the pavement were just an everyday occurrence when it came to being a kid and my outdoor adventures. Not to mention sunburns, mosquito bites and bee stings–come to think of it, it was hard being a kid.

Tie all of that in with sensitive skin and life just got so much harder. Lucky for me my skin WAS flawless, no sensitivity here. Unlucky for my oldest because somewhere along the lines he inherited sensitive skin which makes certain products not so easy to use on his skin. As a mom, it’s my job to help him be a kid, have fun and not worry about any of the “side-effects” that come along with it.

  1. Water – Staying hydrated is very important in keeping skin from getting dry and irritated. Drinking enough water will help to flush out any unnecessary toxins making skin less prone to getting acne.
  2. Aloe Vera – With so many uses for Aloe Vera it would be insane not to have some on-hand at all times; quick relief of blisters as well as minor scrapes and soothes sunburns along with irritations from rashes and pesky bug bites, plus so much more.
  3. Sunscreen - You never know when a spur of the moment outdoor adventure is going to strike. Having a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 or higher and zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as the functioning ingredient.
  4. Hypoallergenic hand sanitizer- Keeping hands free from germs and grime will sustain skin irritations. You don’t have to constantly keep washing your hands but doing so after touching toilets, door handles and anything else that leaves a trace of bacteria can help.
