I feel like I am constantly buying snacks for my family. Every time I go to the grocery store I always make a trip down the snack food aisle and when I see something my family will like I always ask myself, “Is this something I can make myself in a healthier way?”. 9 out of 10 times the answer is yes, but do I go buy the ingredients?


Nope. Honestly, by then the kids are fighting over which movie snack and I just want out. Instead, I look for a better-for-you snack that can be thrown in the cupboard for when my family wants it. Having it be safe to pack in a school lunch for my boys is always a bonus.

These air puffed potato snacks are not only super light and crunchy they also only have 40 calories per cup (that’s 27% less than a regular potato chip). Each flavour is lightly misted with oils and seasoned with good-for-you simple ingredients. They are free of the 11 major allergens including peanut, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy and egg, no artificial preservatives or colours, and no trans fat or cholesterol.

Much to my families pleasure, we’ve tried Sea Salt, Mango Habanero, Barbecue, and now Sea Salted Caramel. All equally delicious!

SPOKES Sea Salted Caramel Air Puffed Potato Snacks are crispy, sweet and just a little bit salty. As soon the bag was opened, my nostrils were hit with an aroma of deliciously rich caramel. At first I though they might be too sweet but than I tasted them and they were SO good!

Finding an option we all like is usually where the complications arise. In our home, we’re two parts sweet and two parts salty. Meaning two of us have a sweet tooth and the other two prefer salty snacks. I’m not going to lie, I enjoy a chip or two sometimes but if I’m going to indulge in carbs it’s going to be something with chocolate.

Mom-Approved Chocolate Apple Sauce Dip

This mom-approved Chocolate Apple Sauce Dip requires only 3 ingredients, is easy to make, has a hummus-like texture and is free of peanuts, dairy, egg, soy, and gluten.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a small microwaveable bowl heat the chocolate pea butter for 10 seconds to soften.
  2. Mix together chocolate pea butter, unsweetened apple sauce, and honey. If you’ve got a hand mixer great but I just used a spoon.
  3. Cover and place in the fridge for an hour or until ready to serve.
  4. Enjoy.

Prepare the dip ahead of time and keep in your refrigerator for a healthier option when it comes to your sweet tooth. It makes a great addition to a child’s lunch bag, movie night and the dessert table at any pot luck.
