Lego Cupcakes {Kid Friendly}
My son is a HUGE Lego fan! So, it came as no surprise to me that when asked what kind of cupcake theme he wanted for his birthday, he said “Lego cupcakes.”
I may not be the most frugal person; in fact I tend to sometimes over-do it on the kids’ birthday festivities, however if I can think of something that I can do on my own, I will.
What You’ll Need
- Pre-made Cupcakes
- Bright Cupcake Liners
- Pre-made Frosting
- Food coloring
- A Cupcake Spatula
- Candy Blox from Bulk Barn
What to Do
Made from scratch or in a box, either way make sure your cupcakes are made in bright cupcake liners.
Pick your favorite color or colors from the box of food coloring; ensure that you have a full bottle because you’ll need it in order to acquire the vibrant colors that are associated with Lego blocks. Mix the full bottle of food coloring with your frosting; again made from scratch or from the store really doesn’t matter the choice is yours.
Spread the frosting as evenly as possible on top of the cupcake. Decorate as you wish with the Candy Blox.
For an extra treat, maybe in replace of goodie bags you can decorate the top with an actual Lego mini figure already put together by your little one. The best part of these cupcakes is they are easy and fun to make you can stack them just like real Lego and the kids will love to help.

These are adorable. I really like adding a minifigure for the guests to take home. Great idea and very doable for those of us who are cake decorating challenged. LOL.

Where were these 12 yrs ago when I needed them lol. My boy was a lego addict, still kind of is at 17, so is his dad. We must have accumulated over 100 different sets of all sizes. Once my girl is old enough, we’ll bring them out of storage to play with. Looking forward to that.
Thanks for posting, these might just be made in the near future!
Amanda Komoski
You’re welcome! They are fun, easy and I’m sure your son will still love them even as a teen.

My girl has become quite the fanatic since bringing our a couple of sets…

It’s kind of like a drug, I guess. Once you have one you NEED more.

Marvellous, we have some Lego fans here (one’s 40 in a few days!) so these would be ideal!
