Giving K’NEX Building Sets This Christmas #HolidayGiftGuide

Building sets seem to a boy’s best friend these days. It seems that there are so many different brands out there, even my local Walmart as a whole aisle devoted to these things. I get it, I mean it’s just like when I was younger and all I wanted to do was make jewelry, it was just my creative side trying to break free. To be honest I’m happy that my son loves just about any toy that he can be creative with, it beats frying his brain over a video game.

Over the summer I had the good fortune of sitting down with my sons and entering their realm of creativity. We pulled out their K’NEX and to be quite honest, I didn’t think I was going to have that much fun but I did. I sat down at their level and just started making stuff, whatever pieces I could get my hands on. I even came up with this super unique flower face.

Bottom line is I had a blast with my two little guys; bending, twisting but most of all letting my imagination and artistic side flow and just have fun with them. Since them I have come to be a lover of K’NEX products and that includes two of their products released for the holidays:

70 Model Building Set

I’m not sure if you noticed but the front of the box says “70 Building Ideas”, seriously 70? That is amazing, I don’t know about you but that definitely keeps my son in his room playing for hours. I love that these are “just ideas” and not the things that you have to actually build because I know that for me personally, even if I have instructions staring me in the face, it’s just not going to happen. With something like this I would just much rather free-hand it.

Plants VS Zombies: Pirate Seas Plank Walk

Hmm I’m not sure what it is but it seems to be that every little boy (and the ones that are little at heart) is fascinated with zombies. I guess their kind of cool for the un-living but in reality they kind of just give me the heebie-jeebies, I mean they eat your brains. Who wants to be friends with that? No one! I guess that’s why this set comes complete with a cabbage-pult and a coconut shooting cannon because obviously plants are the solution to us all becoming walking corpses. What I’m really trying to say here is building and zombies are the perfect combination add in pirates and the set is complete.

Your child will love either of these sets. The choice is really yours, which one do YOU want to play with because in the end we REALLY by them these things to relive our childhood, right!?
