81 Non-Candy Easter Basket Fillers
I’m only now realizing that Easter is less than 2 weeks away. Which means this Easter Bunny has to get her behind in gear and ‘forage’ for some goodies to fill her ‘little hare’s’ baskets.
I’m not one for buying too many sweets (unless they’re for myself), I’d much rather fill my son’s Easter baskets full of toys and other items that they will use or play with and NOT get a belly-ache from. I sometimes have a hard time deciding on what exactly to get them, what they’re going to find useful and what will just end up in the garbage.
I’ve come up with a list of some non-candy Easter basket fillers BEFORE I go shopping so I have an idea of what to get them. This way I won’t be overwhelmed standing in the aisles with the many different options and ‘herds’ of other parents trying to make the same decision.

Like you I\d rather fill my kids basket with small non-edible treats vs. crazy amounts of candy. There’s some great ideas on this list, a few I’d definitely not already thought of. Thanks!
Amanda Komoski

Great ideas, and the best part is they’re not expensive! You can get any of these things at the dollar store. Thanks for sharing.

Those are amazing items. I usually include tattoos for my little girl. She has a blast with them
Amanda Komoski
So does my son, he’s even been known to add a few to his forehead. Doh! 🙂

awesome list!! thank you so much for posting. I have bookmarked for my daughter because she does not even like sweets so to do a traditional chocolate basket wouldnt work. i wanted to include books into a basket for her but was looking for other things to add so this is a great list to refer to!
Amanda Komoski
Thank you! My kids are the same, they’ll eat the sweets if we have them but if they don’t they could care less.
Laurie P
Books, puzzles, hot wheels, and play doh always find there way into our Easter baskets!
Robin (Masshole Mommy)
Those are all awesome ideas. I try to keep the candy to a minimum. I usually get them each a chocolate bunny and that’s it for the sweets.
Amanda Komoski
That’s what I’m trying to do also this year.
Jamie
Love this list! I really liked the idea for magazines…would be great for my teens!

Amanda Komoski

Lynda Cook
These are all awesome ideas, a whole lot better than candy!!
Carra D
Candy is the best part! lol These are very great ideas for limiting the candy. When I was younger I loved getting a mix of candy & goodies like crafting stuff & little toys .
Ashleigh Walls
We only do a few amounts of sweets, most of the candy he gets he doesn’t even eat. Love the idea of more non candy items!
kathy downey
These are some great ideas thanks
Betsy @ BPhotoArt.com
Great list! I’m also partial to non-candy fillers for Easter baskets… but I am guessing we will have *some* candy in there somewhere too. I found some playsilks that will be going in the kids’ baskets this year, along with a couple other creative/imaginative play items that I made from some old sheets. The kids don’t mind, and I’m all for upcycling and repurposing 🙂
Life as a Convert
This is a good list. I do put a lot of candy in my kids baskets, but also a lot of little toys, books, and pencils.
Wanda Tracey
Thanks for the awesome and almost endless ideas of things to add to their baskets. These are great ideas! I like to buy them little things like this and not just all candy 🙂
Chubskulit Rose
My daughter would love that music box. Thanks for sharing these ideas, I honestly don’t know what to get for my kids this year!
Amanda Komoski
I think as they get older it gets harder because they have so much.
Michele D
Honestly, I just buy my kids candy. For me it’s a waste of money buying tons of stuff and only to throw half of it away the next day.
Jacqueline
What a list- love it! I am a huge candy hog, but my friends really aren’t. I like to make spring baskets and these are really cool ideas for them, thanks!
Krystal
I’d like some of these treats in my adult Easter basket! 😉 I would love a watch and nail polish!
Joyce Duboise
I love these ideas! You need a stocking list too (if you don’t have one already). I’ve always been a big believer on giving more useful items and less candy! You have some great ideas on this list! Thanks!
Amanda Komoski
I was just thinking that the other day but I think any of these would be great for that and even party bags.
Danielle @ We Have It All
I love these ideas - I HATE filling their baskets up with junk food! I hit up Party City for all the cheap toys 🙂
Yona Williams
I think non-candy fillers for Easter baskets are the icing on the cake. Because, when all the candy is gone, you still have something tangible and functional to enjoy. My favorite kind of items in this category is anything art-related.
Amanda Komoski
Yes, they have more to show than a belly-ache.
Rosey
You’ve got some good ideas here. I never thought of the play doh but that is a good one. Economical and everyone loves it!
Melissa Jennings

Cherri Megasko
These are great ideas! We just got our grandson his first fishing pole (for his third birthday), so fishing tackle is a perfect idea for his Easter basket.
Amanda Komoski
Now a fishing pole, why didn’t I think of that?
Shannon Gurnee
I’m always looking for non-candy ideas for Easter baskets. These are definitely some great ideas!
Natalie
I always try to NOT get the kids any candy, they don’t need it This year I got them coloring books, crayons/color pencils and socks! They’re going to be at their dad’s all weekend, so hes gonna spoil them with junk.
Amanda Komoski
LOL! That’s how it works!
