Paw Patrol Cupcakes

Paw Patrol Cupcakes will be a hit with any Paw Patrol fan. They are adorable, tasty and are easy to make, anyone can pull this design off, regardless of skill level.

As a mom of a 6-year-old, there are a few things I am a self-appointed expert on. One of them is all things Paw Patrol. We think all of the pups are awesome, but Chase holds a special spot in the heart of my son. I love to bake and decorate cupcakes to brighten sons’ days, make their birthday parties special and to share smiles with friends.

This Paw Patrol Chase Cupcake recipe uses fondant, which is not as intimidating as it might seem. You can make homemade fondant, but I prefer to use Wilton Fondant. It is affordable and easy to work with. It is also easy to find in stores. The most important thing to keep in mind is that fondant will dry out, so be sure to cover it with plastic wrap when you are not working with it to avoid this.

One of the great things about these particular Paw Patrol Cupcakes is that if your kids are a little too old for Paw Patrol, you could use this recipe for a cowboy themed party as the star represents a sherrif’s badge.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Allow your cupcakes to cool completely before decorating. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. On a clean surface, add a light coat of cornstarch.
  2. With a rolling pin (you may dust it with cornstarch as well), roll out fondant so that it’s about ¼ of an inch thick.
  3. Using a small star cookie cutter, cut out 12 star shapes and place carefully on a lined baking sheet. Sheriff Cupcakes
  4. Next, cut out circles from the rolled-out fondant (we used the opposite end of an icing tip). Brush the back of each circle with a bit of water and place one in the middle of each star. The water will help the two fondant pieces to stick together.
  5. Using a stand mixer, start beating butter, sugar, cocoa powder and milk on medium speed. As the buttercream starts to form, increase to high. Add the gel food colouring until you achieve the shade of blue you desire.Blue icing Paw Patrol Cupcakes
  6. Using a piping bag, frost each cupcake. Then place one fondant star on every cupcake.

Enjoy! Chase is on the case!
