Halloween is coming up in just a little over a week. Every year instead of just trick-or-treating with my two little guys we go out in a large group, I am fortunate to live extremely close to extended family who all have children of their own. Rather than making them treat bags filled with goodies, I like to be able to give them something that they can enjoy before hand, let’s just say it’s to fuel their energy for the fun-filled night ahead of them.
I saw this post on Pinterest a few years ago on Mummy Cupcakes and I decided why not give it a try see if it was as easy as it looked and the verdict is… it was even easier seeing as how I cheated and use box cake mix and store bought icing.
Here’s what I used but you can really substitute it with any of your favorite flavors:
- Betty Crocker French Vanilla Cake Mix
- Betty Crocker Chocolate Icing (the darker the better)
- Wilton White Decorating Icing
Bake the cake mix as per directions on the box, ice the cupcakes with the dark icing, make some squiggly lines starting at the top of the cupcake working your way down going back and forth with the white decorating icing, add two M&M’s for the eyes. Voila… you have an easy, not so scary, I mean yummy treat for any Halloween party.
